All of us who love Venezuela are wishing and praying that the Government and the opposition return to the path of dialogue, that it leads to unblocking the game and is the beginning of a true reconstruction of Venezuela. The first condition for a true dialogue is to accept reality, recognize the other, assume responsibility for the situation we are experiencing and show a true will to resolve it, since it has destroyed the productive apparatus, has turned most public services into ruins, it has expelled millions of fellow citizens from the country and prevents the majority from living with dignity.

It will not be possible to overcome the problems if we deny them and repeat that they are the product solely of economic sanctions or of a media conspiracy bent on presenting a false vision of the country, and that those who clamor for change are lackeys of the empire or people with a naive vision of reality or without a heart, who hate the poor and do not want them to progress or surpass themselves. The economic miracle of chavismo-madurismo, instead of lifting the majority out of poverty, has plunged almost all of us into it, except for a minority that lives with all the luxuries with their backs to the suffering of the majority. It is evident that those who govern us and continue determined to maintain the current course, and also the majority of the opposition leaders, do not suffer from shortages of medicine, food, electricity, water or gasoline and enjoy cheap dollars with which they can travel the world without problems and afford a standard of living with your back to the suffering of the majority.

Hence the disrepute in which politics and politicians have fallen. Nor will it be possible to negotiate if one hopes that all their demands are met without giving up anything. It would be convenient for those who sit down to negotiate to try to put themselves in the shoes and anguish of the millions of pensioners who must survive on about 25 dollars a month, after having paid contributions for many years and contributed to raising Venezuela, now destroyed. Doesn't the bleeding of human capital hurt them, which breaks families and projects by having to leave the country in desperate search of a decent life? How is it possible that, without cataclysms or wars, we have turned Venezuela, a country with so much wealth and potential, into one of the most miserable in America? How to continue defending policies that are incapable of stopping inflation, corruption and insecurity and that make inequalities worse? I have no doubt that the sanctions have exacerbated the problems, but it is irresponsible to blame them for the crisis. The decline and destruction of the country began long before the sanctions were implemented. It is time for Politicians (with capital letters), capable of thinking about Venezuela and Venezuelans for whom life becomes more uphill every day. These are not times for revenge or vengeance, to defeat and humiliate the adversary, but neither to hide or cover up the terrible disease we are suffering from or to buy time and use it to obtain quotas of power. The negotiation will only be successful if it is rooted in the suffering of the majority and is aimed at eliminating it. For this reason, it must be framed in compliance with the Constitution and be aimed at guaranteeing the rights of everyone and putting an end to social and economic conduct and policies that aggravate problems or prevent their solution.
